More Successful Endurance Morabs for you to admire....

VSF VALLEY GIRL - Vermont Endurance/CTR Morab Mare

This young Morab mare, VSF VALLEY GIRL, was blinded in one eye as a youngster, making her accomplishments all the more amazing. In 2004 she was Champion of the Green Mountain Horse Association 15 mile Mud Ride in April, and Junior Champion of the GMHA 25 mile in June. She and her 61 year old owner/rider, Ginny Shaw-Wilson, suffered a horrible wreck at a ride in Maine in July, but have since recovered. "Sister" is now both driving AND riding, and starting this summer, is to do Distance Driving as well as the CTR/endurance rides. She is one of the very, very few Morabs who are doing BOTH. Plans are for her brother to do his first CDE this year. Sister is IMR Registered.

Endurance Morab mare has been ID'd!

For those who have been keeping up with this website, you will have noticed that we had a picture of a Morab mare and rider that we were trying to find out who they were. After about a year and a half, we were contacted by the owner/rider in November 2006 and we now have their identity! The mare is Bridal Sweet, and she is out of a Morgan mare and by an Arabian stallion. As we get more information on her, we will be updating this spot. She is in her 20's now, and Carol has owned her since she was born.

TAMARRON RED RAPTURE +BA - California Endurance Morab Gelding

TAMARRON RED RAPTURE - California Endurance Morab gelding - LAAP Bronze Medalist, Multiple Top Tens & Best Condition winner & 5X Tevis Cup! He's finished 55 out of 57 rides over 9 years, and he's still going! 2003 AERC Points Standings #10 for Region West in the Heavyweight Division with rider, Roger Yohe, with 455 miles; 1100.5 Division Points; 545 Overall Points. Pictured at the Tevis Cup. Photo Credit: Lucy Chaplin Trumbull - IMR Registered.

Rapture is Linda Glazier's second endurance Morab gelding - her first was Indiana Algonquin. See below. Her third endurance Morab, Red Sans Legend+BA, is ridden by husband and well-known endurance rider, Roger Yohe. See also below.

LM POWDER DETONATOR - Oklahoma Morab endurance gelding

LM POWDER DETONATOR is pictured to the right, shown waiting in line for a vet check while doing his very first 50 mile endurance ride in the winter of 2007 in Texas. "Nate" stepped right up to 50's after only doing one 25 mile LD. His owner/rider in Oklahoma has been so tickled at how Nate and other Morabs are doing in endurance, that he's now starting to breed for his own endurance Morabs.  Nate is unique among most endurance Morabs in that both of his parents are 50/50 Morabs, not a Morgan and Arabian breeding, making him a second generation Morab on both sides.

LM CLASSIC CADENCE - Oklahoma Endurance Morab gelding

Pictured at right finishing a 50 mile Texas endurance ride in the winter of 2007, Cadence is now 16 years old. Cadence was bred for endurance, & he is a maternal brother to a National Champion Morgan for Open Competitive Trail. Cadence's Arabian sire is a maternal brother to a Top Ten gelding. Cadence's dam is a maternal sister to a Best Condition winning Morab. Cadence is also a great harness horse. Perhaps his owner will end up doing distance driving with him, too! As are some of our endurance Morabs, Cadence is a *big* boy at 15.2 hands and 1100#.

SARACEN'S DAWN O'DAY - Idaho Endurance Morab Mare

SARACEN'S DAWN O'DAY is a multiple Top Ten Endurance Mare with 53 starts and 50 completions in her six year endurance career. A multiple Regional and Local Award winning mare, she was never pulled for metabolic reasons. 2001 AERC Award winner in the Point Standings - Northwest Region, Heavyweight Div.- Pam Haynes, rider. Placed #6 with 505 miles; 969 Division Points; 510 Overall Points.

BLACK MAJIK - Winning Canadian Endurance/CTR Morab!

BLACK MAJIK - pictured at the 2005 Gallagher, Ontario endurance ride, Majik is a winner in many disciplines, including driving and CTR. Top Ten 3 times in 7 rides. Watch out for this up and coming Morab gelding in British Colombia!

TULIP - California Endurance Morab Gelding

PR TULIP - we congratulate this 19 year old Endurance Morab Gelding on his XP Gold Medal win in 2004 AND 2006! He was one of only three horses to earn the Gold in 2004. In 2007, Tulip has now accrued 18,875 AERC miles, spanning a 15 year endurance career, and has finished an amazing 361 rides out of 377, including the Tevis Cup! And he's not finished doing rides by any means, yet! Tulip's AERC Awards are too numerous to mention, including Jr. National Mileage Champion in 1995 and 1996. Registered IMR Morab. Read more about Tulip on the Tevis Cup page. Tulip is proof that the endurance Morab can keep going for year after year after year.

UPDATE JANUARY 2007: PR TULIP IS NOW THE NUMBER ONE ALL-TIME AERC HIGH MILEAGE HORSE! ANOTHER NEW ENDURANCE RECORD HELD BY A MORAB!

DDOUBLE TTROUBLE: California CTR Morab Gelding

DDOUBLE TTROUBLE: Pictured here at 25 years old, this NATRC Morab gelding not only excelled in CTR, but did marathon driving, polo, trail riding, cattle round ups, and spent 6 years as a Chino Hills Park Mounted Assistance Unit horse. It doesn't matter what job you give to a Morab, they'll do it!

SADIQ ALEXI - South Dakota Endurance Morab mare

SADIQ ALEXI - 11 year old endurance Morab mare pictured here at a conditioning ride in South Dakota in 2005.

BORDERLINE ANGEL - Canadian Endurance/CTR Morab mare

BORDERLINE ANGEL - not only an accomplished CTR Morab mare, but is a LOVELY western and english pleasure mount in the show rings! She has also started her endurance career in 2005 with three rides, finishing two with one Top Ten. Pictured here at the 2004 Canadian CTR Championships at Spruce Woods, Manitoba.

DM SKYLARK EDEN - Oklahoma LD Morab mare

DM SKYLARK EDEN - Oklahoma Morab mare who finished her very first LD ride Feb. 2006 in Texas! Eden was basically pulled out of a pasture so a teenage girl could try LD with her mother. Eden went the whole 25 miles and the vet at her last vet check was very impressed with her! Eden's owner was surprised at how well Eden did so she came back to the same ride in 2007 and rode Eden herself for the 25 miles. Pictured at right at the 2007 ride - it's very apparent that both are having a ball! They finished 43rd out of 59 with no problem. And that was including losing a half hour at the start due to helping another rider with tack problems on the trail and they had to go back to the start for parts. Eden is barefoot at this ride, as usual. IMR Registered.

Picture Coming! RED SANS LEGEND +BA - California Endurance Morab Gelding

RED SANS LEGEND+BA - A Bronze medalist in the International Morab registry's LAAP, Legend has garnered 9 Top Tens while finishing 25 out of 27 rides in the last five years. Owned & ridden by Linda Glazier and Roger Yohe, Legend is their third endurance Morab, and is out of the same Morgan mare as Tamarron Red Rapture (see above). Legend finished the Tevis Cup in 30th place in 2006 for his very first 100 mile ride. Those who watch the Tevis know that Roger and Legend were on their way to a Top Ten finish at the Tevis Cup in 2007 when they had a tragic accident on a steep trail just a few miles from the finish. Legend came out with minor injuries, but Roger was airlifted out and in intensive care for a day or so. He's going to be ok. Hopefully we'll see them back at the Tevis in 2007 and this time make that Top Ten finish! IMR Registered.

Pictured at left is our unidentified endurance Morab mare in her 20's and still going strong. We now know that she is Bridal Sweet and her information is at the top of this page.

HOLLINHURT TARANTELLA - this winning Competitive Trail *and* Endurance Morab gelding is 19 years old and going strong. Multiple Best Conditions, 19 Top Tens with 26 rides completed out of 28. Tarantella has the distinction of having done endurance in England before he was imported to Canada in 1995 when his owner emmigrated.  He may very well be the first endurance Morab to be imported in such a manner. He has also been on the UK Team AND the Canadian Team for the Pan American World Championships. He may be the only Morab to be on two different countries' Pan Am teams.
