The Morab successfully crosses with other breeds, too!

It's hard to beat the pure Morab, but folks are also finding out that mixing the Morgan/Arabian with other breeds can also give you an exceptional individual. The Morab Community Network has a registry for Part Morabs as well as their International Morab Registry. Those horses with an IMR Morab parent can be registered in the Part Morab registry. The part Morabs listed below are all endurance and/or competitive trail horses. They do not necessarily have a registered Morab parent, but are Morgan/Arabian/something else.

MENORA WILDFIRE - Australian Part Morab Endurance Gelding

PICTURE COMING! This pretty black and white Aussie pinto is sired by a Lippitt Morgan stallion, Willow Pond Joshua Imp., and out of a 3/4 Arabian 1/4 Pony mare, Kanow Janus. Janus was herself a top endurance mare. Wildfire has completed twelve 50 miles+ rides, including the Mt. Cole Challenge 100 mile ride, and has never been pulled...or "vetted out" as they say Down Under. Over the last three years, Wildfire has stayed in the Top 6 in the state for both points and mileage. He had also been selected for the Victorian A Team at the Quilty 100 Miler. His endurance career is being put on hold for now as he's being sent to Queensland to hopefully help a young lady make it to Beijing, China, for the ParaOlympics. Susie, who is severely handicapped and rides Level One dressage, has already used Wildfire several times for the Australian National Dressage Championships. The pair produced beautiful workouts with very little preparation time, and achieved top scores placing 2nd twice to an established combination who achieved Bronze at 2000. They were second also to the team of Jan Pike and Dr. Doolittle (an imported German trained Warmblood) who placed in 2004.

They have high hopes for Beijing with this Part Morab.

MOVIN' ON BLUES is 6 time Tevis Cup finisher!

MOVIN' ON BLUES - California Endurance Part Morab gelding - Pictured at the Tevis Cup, heading for Michigan Flat - finished the Tevis five years in a row, & made it 86 miles in his sixth attempt (2005) before being pulled by his rider.  Then he came back in 2006 and finished in 54th place like the trooper he is for a total of six completed Tevis Cup rides in 7 years. A steady and reliable 100 miler, this Top Ten endurance Morab has finished 56 out of his 60 started rides over his nine year career. He has many more rides and miles to come, and has completed 7 rides in 2007 already. He is sired by a Morgan/Quarter Horse stallion and out of an Arabian mare. Registered Half Arabian.

Picture Coming! KACHEMAK CHISUM - Arizona Part Morab Endurance Gelding

Born and raised in ALASKA, Chisum moved 4,000 miles with his owners to ARIZONA as a four year old. Despite this huge change in climate, Chisum has adjusted quite well. Sired by a winning Alaskan Endurance and NATRC CTR Morgan stallion, and out of an Arabian/Quarter Horse mare. Chisum has done 25/50 mile AERC rides, some CTR's (NATRC & AHA & non-sanctioned) 50's, 35's & 25's, including winning the ESTRELLA MT. NATRC, Arizona Open HW Division last year despite it being 103 degrees with deep sand washes and miles of endless hot lava rock. Add to that, there was little to no water at the PR's. Chisum came through in fine shape.

During his 11 years in Arizona, Chisum has been to Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon (lowest point of elevation in Arizona), and as high as you can go on horseback on Mt. Eldon at Flagstaff (the highest point in Arizona). Turning 15 this spring, Chisum is headed for the 50 mile Land of Sun mid-pack ride, and also to the AERC Old Pueblo and the NATRC ride in Wickenburg.

In Chisum's AERC endurance rides, he has always finished. His best rides are still to come...
